Basic Informationf
History of Artificial Turf |
Artificial turf is one of the artificial landscaping materials made of synthetic fibers to replace natural grass, and has been widely used worldwide since it was first manufactured in the United States in 1956. It is used in golf courses, football fields, futsal fields, baseball fields, tennis courts, indoor and outdoor interiors, leisure facilities, and sports facilities by solving problems such as limited environment and management costs, which are the disadvantages of natural grass.

Composition of Artificial turf |
Manufacturing by constructing ceramic monofilament yarn produced through dry-wet hybrid spinning into pile with the latest mechanical equipment of tufting method.
Shapes of yarn |
Yarn has three forms through extrusion spinning. It is made in the shape of straight, semi-straight, crimp yarn, and the unit of length is divided into mm.

Weaving Methods of Pile |
There are three ways of weaving methods of pile with yarn. They are devided into the way of planting yarn on woven fabrics, it can be divided into mono, double and twisted structures.
Bottom side of Artificial turf - Composition of Woven fabrics |
The bottom side of artificial turf is called woven fabrics and is made by overlapping several layers of materials. The woven fabrics is composed of ① PP or PE woven fabrics + ② net + ③ bottom coating from the top.
Bottom side of Artificial turf - Woven fabrics Backing |
Backing : A manufacturing method of coating the bottom of the base paper constituting the artificial turf. By coating the back side of the floor, the artificial turf yarn is firmly bonded to the base paper. The condition of the backing affects the life and durability of artificial turf.
Backing type
ㆍPE coating (Polyethylene) - Recycling is possible if the polyethylene artificial turf material and the coating material are the same.
ㆍPU coating (Polyurethane) - Artificial material made of polyurethane and has excellent coating power.
ㆍSBR latex coating (Polyethlene) - The strength of the product after coating is similar or superior to PE coating, which is widely used in the domestic industry.
Categorized by material (raw material) |
The material (raw material) of the yarn has the characteristics of each of PP, PE, and NY, and is woven into a pile to form artificial turf. Therefore, the characteristics of the piles woven from yarn determine the use of artificial turf. For various installation environments, reasonable use of artificial turf, and economical efficiency, various artificial turf are produced through double weaving and twisted methods when weaving piles.
PP (Polypropylene) | PE (Polyethylene) | NY (Nylon) | PE + PP |
ㆍ Weaving in short length due to rough and hard strength. ㆍShort limited life and weak elasticity ㆍ Suitable for indoor use due to low price ㆍ Not suitable for sports | ㆍ Excellent elasticity, resilience. Expensive, but mainly used for sports facilities due to its softness and high durability. | ㆍ More flexible than PP material ㆍ Intermediate material characteristics between PP and PE ㆍCan be used indoors or outdoors and is mainly used for golf | ㆍ Both dual characteristics |
